If Not Now, Then When?

-Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death.

-More than one-third (34.9% or 78.6 million) of U.S. adults are obese.

-Percent of adults age 20 years and over who are overweight, including obesity: 69.0% (2011-2012)

^^These are the stats.

Working out is no longer a “hobby”. Working out can be and IS life-saving and not only life-saving, but life-changing.

That said, if you are here reading my blog, it’s not because you are looking to become a power-lifter or a strength athlete or looking for rehab.

You are here because you want to look your best.

This requires you truly think about this question: if not now, then when?

If not now, when you are 10 lbs overweight, then when? When you’re 30-40 lbs overweight and flirting with being extremely overweight?

If not now, when you are able-bodied and with little/no pain in your muscles and joints, then when? When you become too weak to perform daily tasks at a young age?

If not now, when your desire to change is at it’s highest, then when? When getting off your couch seems like a task of itself?

If not now, when you’ve tried every other fad “fix” or “30-day challenge” and haven’t gotten your results, then when? When you’ve spent all your money and the only result is resentment?

Every day, whether its 1 person or 10, I encounter people wanting to make changes but “now”, even though there is no better time, seem to put it off until they are so far gone that getting back to it is even that much harder.

The “used-to-be athlete”.

The mom wanting to get to pre-pregnancy shape and better.

The “I do all these classes and still look this way” guy and girl.

Don’t wait until it’s too late.
